Physical Security Manager / Locksmith / Armed Security Officer

Centerra is seeking an Physical Security Manager for full time employment in the Independence, Missouri area.  The position of Physical Security Manager is also required to meet the requirements of an Armed Security Officer.

Following is a list of job duties specific for the Physical Security Manager / Locksmith position:

    Working knowledge of Microsoft: Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
    Strong time management and prioritization skills
    Coordinate problem solving solutions with management, Client and contractors
    Working knowledge of related Army Regulations
    Maintain program for receipt, issue, controls, storage and accountability for all security related locks and keys
    Maintain security seal program
    Assist client updating comprehensive Physical Security Plan
    Maintain the Clients Key Shop and equipment to include locksmith tools, lock components, replacements, parts, keys and supplies
    Ability to receive/obtain certification to install and change combinations of X-series High Security Locks
    Complete additional duties as assigned


    Working knowledge of BEST System Software
    Certified Locksmith
    Prior Locksmith experience
    Prior experience in physical security program management
    Prior experience with digital access control systems

Following is a list of job duties for the Armed Security Officer position:


    Provide for the security and safety of client property and personnel.
    Preserve order and act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
    Respond to routine and emergency situations.


    Standing a post for 8 to 16 hours while wearing duty equipment and personal protective equipment weighing up to 30 pounds (includes a required ballistic vest) while exposed to all weather conditions.
    Ability to properly and effectively wear or use personal protective equipment, including that used to prevent exposure to chemical, biological, or radiological agents.
    Acuity of senses and ability of expression sufficient to allow essential, accurate communication by written, spoken, audible, visible, or other signals.
    Ability to operate both as a member of a team and independently at incidents of uncertain duration.
    The ability to maintain mental alertness, deductive, and inductive reasoning, memory, and reliable judgment, to include operating a motor vehicle – even under emergency conditions.
    Ability to respond appropriately to routine and emergency situations of the job including bending, reaching, dodging, crawling, climbing, rapid ascent of stairs, short to moderate sprints, and self defense if necessary while wearing protective equipment.
    Ability to mentally and physically endure emergency situations for extended periods of time.
    Ability to handle, shoot, and qualify semi-annually with a .9mm pistol and shotgun.
    Ability to complete and apply training (if necessary as self-defense) MP Baton, Unarmed Self Defense, and non-lethal OC Spray. (Training for OC Spray includes direct exposure to the effects of this weapon.)
    Ability to pass an annual Physical Ability Test (PAT):
        19 pushups in 2 minutes
        Run 1.5 miles within 17:30 minutes


    Must be at least 21 years of age
    High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    Valid Driver’s License

Applicants are subject to a pre-employment and background investigation, including prior employment, personal references, criminal and credit screening, motor vehicle report, etc.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance, prior to training. (Adverse, false, incomplete, or missing information regarding personal, employment, criminal, or credit history, may delay this process.)

Employees are subject to random drug screening, annual background investigations, and must report any and all violations (including traffic tickets) and/or arrests.
